Monkeying Around

I feel silly like a monkey today. Why is that? Well, I guess because it is almost Friday and it has been a long week. This weekend we are actually taking a trip to my sister's to a town called Varpaisjärvi. More on that later.

Anyway, I wore my favorite monkey shirt today. Well, it is my only monkey shirt to be honest. I bought it long time ago from Only. But it is very comfortable. I really only buy and wear things that feel good and that are comfortable. That is because you will look ten times better when you feel good in your clothes and the clothes fit properly. If they don't, you end up slouching and looking miserable. But today's post wasn't supposed to be about giving tips on how to dress (maybe I'll do that later).

I actually wanted to show you my monkey business I did yesterday to surprise my hubby. As I have told before, I really like bananas and I eat them all the time. My husband likes them too. So, we always have them at home. Yesterday we went grocery shopping and got of more bananas among other things.
Once we got home, I scratched up some sayings on the bananas. I saw this done on Instructibles few weeks ago and thought it was cute. I figured that Scott would like it when I say "I love you" on a banana.

If you scratch a banana with a tooth pick, the scratched part turns brown in just couple of minutes. So, you can just scratch little sayings or names on the bananas with a toothpick and wait for it to turn brown.
If you need more detailed instructions how to do it, you will find pictures and instructions here on Instructables webpage. If you don't know what Instructables is, you are missing out. It is a cool website for all the DYI people. But these are super easy to do.

This is what I did:

Too bad Scott didn't realize that it was me who had written the things on the bananas. He first thought that it was somebody at the store who had done it. He was more freaked out than impressed. Then he figured out that it was just his silly wife who had done it. He said I have too much time on my hands (*giggle*).

I think that they are adorable! And this is also a fun way to get kids to eat their bananas. Or you could use them as a place card for a dinner party, and then for desert you could serve banana splits. Who says I have too much time? I think I have way too many awesome ideas!!
By the way... Who is your favorite monkey? Mine is Donkey Kong Jr from Nintendo video games.

GO BANANAS AND HAVE A SILLY THURSDAY!!
