Google is the best. They have a new and very awesome feature on their Chrome-browser. It is called Chrome Web Store and it works pretty much the same than any app market that smart phones have. If you don't have a smart phone yet, you should get one. They rock! I have the Samsung Galaxy S. It does everything that I need. I'm not ashamed to say that I'm in love with my phone (*wink*). It has all my e-mail accounts, Google chat, internet, camera, HD video recorder, my music files, skype and so much more! Of course it works as a phone too (*giggle*).
Anyway, smart phones have a feature that you can download different applications (apps for short) for your phone for free or for a small charge. There are so many different kind of apps! For example; I have an app that has yoga poses with pictures and a calm voice explaining how to do them. Then I have an app called Hokkari, it has all the Finnish hockey league's stats just under one click. And don't forget Angry birds, the most addicting game ever. There are apps for baking, shopping, maps, e-books, sports, photos... You just name the app and they have it!
So, now Google Chrome has the same app market feature than the smart phones have. You can get different apps for your computer and some of the apps can be synced with your phone. For example this one camera app. You take pictures with your phone and its' special camera app that gives the pictures an old look. Then if you have the same camera app on the computer, the system automatically loads up the pictures from your phone to the computer's app. This way you can easily edit the pictures on you computer.
Another app that my husband was trying on last night, is pretty cool too. It allows you to view your friends pictures on Facebook without you actually clicking on them. You just put your cursor over the picture and the app "pulls up" the picture larger on the screen. Very handy!
Here are couple other apps I found last night on Google Chrome Web Store. I haven't had a chance to look into these that well yet because this feature is so new but these seem to be very interesting. Once I have more time, I will definitely test these out more.
Good food app that is all about healthy food. It also has a lot of recipes and great cooking tips.
This one looks like fun. Aviary photo editing app.
This app is for all the movie buffs like me. Your Next Film app suggests movies for you to watch.
I find the human body and its' functions very fascinating and that is why I think this app is very intriguing. It has 3D pictures of the dissected human body.
Jiggyape lets you to listen and create a playlist for free. They have thousands of songs from different artists like Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Coldplay etc. You can either use their app or they have a web site as well.
And lastly... Angry birds. You gotta have it on your phone and your home computer. Did you know that the creator of Anrgy Birds is Finnish?
I'm not the brightest candle when it comes to techincaI stuff, so I apologize if there are any wrong terms or I didn't explain something quite right. I try to learn something new everyday and I really like all the new things that technology allows us to do. Thank goodness for Google making their technology fairly simple to use (*smile*).
