Happy Friday Everyone!
Guess what?
My dad brought me a real little xmas tree few days ago. He figured that since we won't be at home for xmas, we should have a tree that we can enjoy before hand. Our tradition is to go to my sister's for Christmas every year. She always has a gorgeous huge tree at her place.
Since I love Christmas, so I don't mind having the tree already even though is not very common in Finland. If you didn't know, Finns don't bring in the the xmas trees until a day or two before xmas. I'm used to the Americans putting up the tree right after Thanksgiving (*smile*).
Last night I finally had time to decorate the tree. I had bought some decorations on sale last year and I completely forgot them until now when I was going through our storage. So, this year the theme on the tree is pink, red, gold and a little bit Persian with some turquoise accents.
I know my dad hates that I put so many decorations on the tree. He is a real Finn and he only uses few very modest decorations. He says that the tree itself is so pretty that you don't need much. My dad actually chose this tree from his own forest and chopped it down just for us. But I can't help loving the more American style and putting up a ton of decorations. More the merrier, right?

This is my favorite new decoration... I wonder why... (*giggle*)...
Finns usually have a star as the tree topper. I opted for this more American one. It went better with the theme too.
Besides trimming the tree, I also had a fun surprise in the mail yesterday. My niece had sent me an early xmas present. She made me a felt Santa picture to put on the wall. My family is pretty crafty! Thank you, Jenna!!
That was my day yesterday. I don't have much going on today. Probably another busy day at work since it is Christmas time. In the afternoon I will just chill and take it easy. I will enjoy a hot sauna and some good food in the evening. I have couple presents that I need to wrap but that's about it.
I hope everybody is going to have a great weekend!! Only 7 more days till Christmas eve...
