Technical Stuff & Movie Madness With PlayStation3

Hello there!

Our PlayStation3 that I ordered last week arrived yesterday. Wohoo! We can finally watch BluRay movies, plus 3D movies. Of course we can play games too. One of my favorite games is BishiBashi. I also would like to try the fitness games but those require the special motion sensing controller called PlayStation Move. Maybe we'll get it later. Only minus about PlayStation3 on my opinion is that it could be sleeker and smaller. It is quite big for my taste. Bigger is not always better, at least when it comes to decorating.

To test out our new player last night, we watched Kung Fu Panda 2. The quality of the BluRay is just awesome, so the whole movie was visually really good. The plot is ok, not the best and not the worst. I like Kung Fu Panda though. I fell in love with the main character Po Panda as soon as I saw the first Kung Fu Panda movie. Po is just too funny! This movie isn't just for kids because it made us adults to laugh too, and for younger kids this movie can be bit scary. When I first saw this movie at the theater with my then 5 year old nephew, he was scared half the time and he kept covering his eyes with his hands.

And talking about good looking movies... we saw the movie Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows on New Year's Day and it was great!

This movie looked so awesome, and I'm not just talking about handsome Robert Downey Jr (*wink*). This movie had so many gorgeous shots that I was thinking middle of the movie that why would everybody make 3D movies now days if 2D can look this good. Don't get me wrong. I like 3D movies too but not every movie have to be in 3D. Sherlock Holmes had many slow motion scenes that were superb just in 2D. Plot was also good and the characters had very many witty conversations that were a joy to listen to. Thumbs up!

Another movie I want to give a shout out to is Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. I haven't seen it yet since it is not out in theaters in Finland yet but I know the movie has done well in the USA. The reason why I'm interested about the 4th Mission Impossible is the Finnish actor Samuli Edelmann. He plays a bad guy in the movie. If any of my readers in the US have seen this movie, let me know how it was. I'm keen to see it myself.
