Last night was the time to finish up this year's award season with the annual Academy Awards. Since I'm off work today, I actually stayed up to watch the red carpet show but I couldn't stay awake for the actual awards. It was 3am when I had give up and go to sleep.
Before I fell asleep, I noticed that this time the lovely ladies of the red carpet were really relaxed with their hair. Lot of the stars had their hair down with long waves. I liked it a lot! Bangs were also fairly popular, and not just any bangs, the blunt very straight bangs seemed to be the trend.
What comes to the gowns, white was ruling the carpet. Along with nudes, pastels and metal colored dresses. The other trend with the gowns was bright colors like red and green.
Here are my picks of the Oscars. If you want to see more pictures, check out the huge picture gallery at People magazine.
My favorite dress was worn my Michelle Williams, and dress was made by Louis Vuitton.
This dress worked wonders on Octavia's figure. Plus I love the color!
I like the bold red.
I love the hem of this dress, just plain gorgeous! Check out Cameron's very undone hair.
Why do I care about Adam Lambert at the Oscar after party? Because his boyfriend Sauli is from Finland. Sauli is the short cute blue eyed one in the middle.
I love Jessica's hair. Free, flowy and a very pretty color.
Move over Brangelina! This is my favorite couple of the night.
Sequins and blunt bangs.
I usually don't like the color gold but Clooney's girlfriend's dress was darling!

Although I dont really care for fashion that much, the Oscar night is something I look forward to as well. There were many beautiful dresses and my favorite was Wendi Murdoch. I also liked the way her hair was done, and overall you could sense old Hollywood glamour in her appearance. About the movies, I think Meryl Streep deserved her oscar. I saw the Iron Lady movie this weekend and to my surprise I have to admit that it was very good, mostly thanks to Meryl. I also saw the trailer for the Artist and I became very interested in it. I heard that Artist won many oscars, so I will be heading to see that. Lucky me that it will premiere this Friday! I hope that you´ll get better soon! (Gosh, I don´t even know how many times I have told you that during the past few months but lets hope it will work this time.) I am actually suffering from a flu and a stuffy nose myself.....Not fun!
ReplyDeletei missed all this oscar stuff - i will have to catch up online... i'm glad you posted about it - it's fun to see the pictures!
ReplyDeleteSauli - is the most tan fin i've ever seen!
get well soon all of you sick ones! i meant to post about my cold cure - because i started craving - that salty/salmiak licorice in the candy packets you sent for me - licorice is a natural expectorant & so is the ammonium chloride that flavors the candies - i was eating those & potato chips - i was craving them both something fierce - (the salt helped me drink more fluids - thereby flushing out the ick) and i made tea from fresh lemons, honey & fresh ginger & kept drinking that every few hours oh & echinacea tea - it seemed to knock out the icky stuff!
Hello!
ReplyDeleteYes, Wendi looked very glamorous.
I haven't seen Iron Lady yet and I'm not sure if I will. I don't like Meryl that much. I know, there must be something wrong with me... But the Artist seems like a movie I could watch.
It seems like everyone is sick right now!! Thank you for the cold cure tips!! I must go and get some salty licorice then. I believe we don't have any at hand right now. And yes, Sauli is pretty tan. At least compared to me... :D
