Easter Time In Finland 2012

Hi there!

I hope everyone had a great Easter! I had wonderful four days off from work because Finland celebrates Good Friday and the 2nd Easter Day as national holidays. I don't mind that at all (*wink').
We went to my sisters to hang out with her family. She lives in the country about 45 minutes up North from us. It was so nice just to be, eat, sleep and enjoy the spring. Here are pictures from our trip to my sister's. Enjoy!

Watching tv.

My niece Jenna is going on the 7th grade in the fall.

Jinx loves it at my sister's because there is so much land for him to roam.

My sister has 2 chihuahuas and 3 cats. Plus cows. This little one on the back ground is called Eppu.

Jinx gets along with everyone in the house.

Best pals were getting tired.

This picture is so darling. A scary pitbull sleeping with a tiny chihuahua. Too bad Jinx isn't very scary at all.

Eppu took over the whole big bed.

Jinx trying to rest his head on the pillow.

Eppu is getting very tired!

Big dog, little dog.

Sleeping away!

Jenna said she was only resting her eyes even though she was really sleeping.

Play time!

Next day we took a walk in the fields.  They still have a plenty of snow around my sister's place.

We were in the middle of nowhere! Jinx loved it because he could run around a lot.

It is a Finnish Easter tradition to grow grass and decorated it with chicken, eggs and pussy willows.

The grass symbolizes all the growth and the beginning of everything new.

This is my sister's other dog Ville. He is deadly afraid of Jinx.

"Is the evil black dog gone yet?"

"How about now?"

"Is it safe to come out?"

Ville is scared of many things really.

But he knows how to kill a stuffed animal.

Ville stayed on the couch most of the time Jinx was in the room.

Check out these cute Easter eggs my sister had knitted.

They are very cute!

My other sister and her son Eetu came by too! It was nice to see everyone.

There you go! That was our Easter 2012. Nothing too exciting went on but it was really nice to hang out with my family, and also to see jinx's happy face when he got to run free in the countryside.

Have a nice week!

  4. I know! I like those Easter eggs too. My sister is so handy!

You totally should plant Easter grass next year. It so much fun to watch it grow.
