Howdy!
What is new today with you? Not much here. Just middle of a work week. Also the weather is bit chilly (*anything under 20C/68F is chilly for me*) and grey. Also, I'm not happy about one of my friends moving away. Pretty sucky day! Usually when I'm in a funk I entertain myself with a good movie. Funnier the better! I'm not sure what I will watch today but I want to recommend you a good movie I saw recently.
You probably guessed that I'm talking about Ted (*blush*). I know I have been hyping it up for quite long now but I actually finally got to see it about a week ago. It was really as good as I thought it would be but it was different than I expected. I was prepared for a ha-ha-laugh-your-ass-off-funny but it was more drama than just comedy. Not bad though, not at all. I definitely enjoyed it and I would see it again.
Ted is a story about a teddy bear named Ted that comes alive when his owner, then little boy, John (played by Mark Wahlberg) wishes for it. After this miracleous event John and Ted (voice by Seth MacFarlane) instantly become best buddies. Fast forwarding to current time and John is already over thirty years old and still living with Ted, who as well has grown up. Ted is crude and extremely inappropriate. He loves smoking pot as well as hanging out with hookers. John's girlfriend Lori is not happy about the situation. She wants John to choose between her and Ted. After this demand from Lori, things get sticky when John tries to figure out what to do.
It was very interesting to notice how an animated teddy bear quickly was accepted as one of the actors. You could hear the audience sighing sadly when Ted was sad. You really didn't see or think a difference between the human actors and Ted, and it was great. I was glad to see a well made computer generated character that felt like it belonged to the movie, and that is why I give this movie two thumbs up! Go see it! But remember that this is not a kid movie even though it has a cute teddy bear. Some of the jokes are bit rough for little eyes and ears.
Happy Thursday!! (*even if you are in a funk*)
