Bake My Day / Chocolate Cobbler

Hello!

Sorry I haven't posted anything for awhile. I have been just busy and lazy at the same time. Also, nothing exciting has happened. Just grey days (*blah*). Plus today I have been suffering from a TERRIBLE headache.

Anyway, I want to share my awesome recipe for Chocolate Cobbler with you  guys. I mentioned about this recipe back in July but I didn't have time to tell you more about it then. I actually got the recipe from my sister-in-law on our trip to the US in June. Couple days ago I baked this yummy cobbler again and this time I wrote down the recipe for you as well as took pictures. Enjoy!

Easy Chocolate Cobbler

Ingredients, step 1:
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup flour (2,5 dl)
- 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup sugar (1,8 dl)
- 1 ½ tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup milk (1,2 dl)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ingredients, step 2:
- 1 cup sugar (2,5dl)
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (0,6 dl)
- 1 ½ cup boiling water (3dl)

* Preheat the oven to 350F / 175C degrees. Melt butter in an 8x8x inc baking dish while the oven preheats.

* For step 1, in a medium bowl, stir together the flour, salt, baking powder, 3/4 cup sugar and 1 ½ teaspoons cocoa. Stir in milk and vanilla until smooth. Spoon this batter over the melted  butter in the baking dish.

* For step 2, stir together the remaining cup of sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa powder. Sprinkle this mix over the batter. Slowly pour boiling water over the top of the mixture.

* Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, until set. Serve slightly warm with ice cream.

Mixing up the dry ingredients.

Melted butter.

Mixing in milk.

First layer of batter spooned over the butter.

Second layer of sugar and cocoa.

Lastly the boiling water.

Magic happening in the oven...

Ready! Yummy cake like top part with gooey custard style chocolate goodness underneath.

Bottom of the cobbler is made out of gooey chocolate custard or pudding. It is so good!

I meant to take a picture of the cobbler in a serving bowl with some ice cream but I was in such a hurry to eat it that I completely forgot it (*Oops*). But this is dessert is really, really delicious and super easy to make. Take my word on it.

Cheers!
