Feeling Loopy In the Windy City

Hey there!

Here we go, finally more pics from our trip to the USA. Today's pictures are from the last week of our vacation. We took a train to stay in Chicago for few days before flying back to Finland. We reserved a hotel right in the Loop, so we were able to see lots of sights. We had a great time!

Jenna in the SouthShore train.

Only a half of our luggage (*yikes*).

Starting the day with diet cherry Dr.pepper.

We stayed at Marriott Fairfield Inn & Suites that is located on Ontario St.

Our room was really clean and fresh!

View from the room.

After we were settled in at the hotel, we ventured out to see the city!

Walking by the lake shore.

At the Oak St. beach.

Fourth Presbyterian Church on Magnificent Mile.

Chicago water tower. One of the few buildings that survived the great Chicago fire.

Scott and Jenna in the midst of the Loop.

Next we went to see Millennium park that located right in the downtown of Chicago. It is really pretty!

We got to listen the Grant park orchestra to practice for a concert.

My favorite part of the park; the Cloud gate. Also known as the Bean.

Goofing off by the Bean.

The Crown fountain.

The Lurie garden.

Like I told you. The park is really pretty!

On our way back to the hotel.

That was a fun day! We did a lot of walking (*18km/11mi*) but it was so worth it. I absolutely love Chicago and I was really excited to show it to my niece. But that wasn't all that we did while in the Windy city. Just wait for my next post of the USA pics...

  1. Now I want to go play in Chicago!

We are so close - I really should try to get up there more often!

That park is beautiful - is that near the bean? I don't remember having seen it.

  2. You totally should go there more often. It is so close to you.

The pretty park is right behind the bean and the concert area. More closer to the lake. It is still part of Millennium park though.
