Things That Made Me Smile This Week

Hello, hello!

Today I want to share things that made me smile this week. Here we go!

1) Carrot-Potato Soup

Couple days ago I was feeling like eating something warm&hearty, so I came up with this recipe:
-3 carrots (peeled, cut in chunks)
-2 potatoes (peeled, cut in chunks)
-1 onion (diced)
-2 tsp ginger (fresh, grated)
-can of coconut milk
-salt and pepper to taste

Saute onions while carrots and potatoes are boiling. Once veggies are tender, pour out the water, add onions, ginger and coconut milk. Puree with hand mixer until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.

This will definitely make you and your belly smile!

2) Busted Water Pipe

Yeah, at first I wasn't very happy about this but after getting superb service from our repair guy, I was smiling. He came over to see the damage as soon as I called and he was really nice. He didn't mind Jinx barking, and he made sure we were good to go over the weekend. More repairs to follow next week...

3) Sparkly New Loreal Nailpolish

To get extra energy in the dark days of winter, I bought this new nail polish by Loreal. It made me feel jazz, dazzle and giggle. I love it!

4) Good Morning- Note

One morning I went to work and found this cute little post it- note on my calendar. It made me smile.

5) Welcome Sugar!

I survived a whole month without any sugar. WOHOO!! Now I have slowly started to introduce sugar back to my diet. The key word is portion size. Also, note to myself; I do not need dessert after breakfast (*yeah, that was my ultimate low before the diet, as well as one of the reasons for it*).

Anyway, I baked yummy brownies for Scott, as well as bought cinnamon rolls fro myself. There is nothing better to make you smile than sweets (*giggle*).

6) Scott's Birthday (*and Rosa's too*)

Birthdays make me smile. Especially when it is someone else's birthday. That way I get to enjoy cake&bubbly yet I'm not getting any older (*hahaha*).

Birthday kisses and hugs! And happy weekend to all! Keep on smiling!
