Like I told you in my previous post, month of April is hell. I'm going to exercise as much as I can. Nothing is stopping me besides my own lazy ass if I let it do so. I have plenty of free time and the weather (*so far*) has been pretty good. So, no time for posts really. All my free time is for exercise and fitness.
For the past month now I have been waking up an hour earlier and gone for a morning run/jog/walk. At first I wasn't sure if I would like it but it's not that bad. It is actually really good. I'm definitely a morning person to begin with, so getting up and going isn't a big deal to me.
I do have mornings that I'm not as alert and awake, I'm a human after all (*wink*). That is why I always listen to upbeat music and I blast it hard. It makes me feel like I'm at a club dancing and having fun. Then that awesome feeling springs into my run.
Also Jinx loves our morning runs now. Before he would just sleep when I got up to get ready for work but now he knows I'm getting up to go outside first, so he waits for me by the door. So cute!
Mornings are special to me. The whole city is still and quiet, the sun is rising. I'm usually alone, maybe one or two other people walking their dogs. Spending the first hour of the day just myself, for me, gets my day going really well.
I'm not running really fast. I'll take my time and listen to my body. My back is still messed up because of the ruptured disc, so I know it is not good for me to do something super strenuous first thing in the morning. I save the rough stuff for later. I do kettlebell and bodypump in the afternoons.
Enjoying trails in the woods.
My typical morning.
Loving the sunrises.
I compete with my shadow. She always wins (*giggle*).
Raisin-almond oatmeal with butter. Yep. I said butter. Yummy!
Jinx is my faithful running companion.
Hiking up the hills of Puijo.
Last bits of winter.
Coconut oatmeal with coconut-rum bananas (*weekend treat*) for breakfast.
Homemade&healthy dinner.
Happy smiles in the morning.
First rays of sun.
Happy Monday everyone!!
