Oktoberfest

Hi there!

Finally I had time to upload these pictures from last weekend's Oktoberfest party. Our friend Juha turned 30 years old, so him and his wife Katri threw a fabulous feast for friends and relatives. To my surprise, almost everyone dressed up in dirndl dresses and leder hosen pants. Food was amazing - they served a huge roasted pig with different kinds of salads and bread. And as you may have guessed it, there was lots of beer too! Party went on late into the night and everyone had great fun. To share all the fun, I took a lot of pictures. I hope you like them. Enjoy!

My present to Juha. A homemade picture frame with his picture and lots of beer caps.

Details.

I wrapped up the frame with pretty wrapping paper and handmade decorations.

It was fun to get ready for the party; makeup, hair and of course a dirndl dress.

My handmade candle holders were spread all over the house.

The whole house had a lovely rustic harvest feel.

Colorful banners.

Little pretzels I made.

Our friends had collected over 50 beer steins for all the guests to use. Everyone got to choose their own and to mark their name on it with a sticker. At the end of the night, guests could take their stein home with them. How cool is that?

They also had made special coasters with Juha's face on them. Super awesome!

Real maple leaves.

If you didn't realize it was a Oktoberfest party, you knew at least after you saw this huge sign.

A wall to post pictures and stories about the birthday boy.

Cute acorns.

It was a marvelous fall day with lots of sunshine!

Juha and Katri all dressed up and ready for the party!

We ordered our dresses from Germany.

Birthday boy and his special ladies.

My little straw vases were prefect for serving up pretzel sticks.

Delicious treats and legos?!? Just keep reading and you'll see why there were legos.

Music was also very German of course!

When Juha was little he used to paly with legos a lot. That is why there was a competition about legos at the party. You had to guess how many legos were in the jar. The person who got it closest, won a prize.

Each room of the house had little snacks to munch on.

Even Katri's earrings were Oktoberfest themed. That is dedication!

Close up on the dried grains.

Guests coming to congratulate Juha.

No matter how old you are, presents are always a good idea.

And flowers too!

There were few little guests too.

Scott and I dressed accordingly.

My homemade wreath was welcoming all the guests to the party.

Pretty decorations outside.

Scott and his suede leder hosen.

I couldn't wear heels because of my stupid sore foot.

The best part of the party was definitely this delicious roasted pork!

Hungry boys ready to eat.

Fresh salads tasted really good with the slow roasted pork meat.

Little piggy tail (*giggle*).

People didn't like it on Instagram when I posted a picture if the pig. I guess they thought we shouldn't kill pigs. Oh well. I like the taste!

Other guests enjoyed the dinner too!

This looks a bit gruesome but tastes so good.

Our friend Rosa and I.

Next year we're going to Germany to the real Oktoberfest (*wink*).

Scott and Toni both chose a red shirt.

"My eyes are up here"

Silly friends.

Oktoberfest poses.

Chilling after dinner.

Sun was starting to set.

Golden leaves.

Many of the guests came with a car but left on cab. I wonder why (*laugh*).

It was sunny but kinda cold day.

Cake and coffee time! Little Juha and a little bit older Juha playing guitar.

One of the relatives had made these cute heart cookies. Yummy!

Katri and Juha had also planned a quiz for friends vs. relatives.

Some of the guests.

More guests.

Juha and part of his band played for us. Don't forget to check out their band Dreamferno.

Juha's brother decided to sing too.

What a fun party! Thank you guys for having us there. Next year we should go to Germany for Oktoberfest. What do you think?
