Trend watch / Hat Looks for Fall 2011

Hats! Hats! Hats!

When the weather starts to get cold and the winds are blowing your hair around, you know it is time to start using hats. Now days young people are lucky that hats are in fashion. Back when I was in high school it was very uncool to wear hats, no matter how cold it was. So, all the cool kids would walk around in subzero temperatures without hats. I was never that cool and I always wore a hat (*laugh*). I didn't want to be cold (and I still don't). I really like wearing hats, they are a great accessory. Plus if you are having a bad hair day, a hat can rescue your day.
Now it is very trendy to wear hat and there are many styles to choose from. Even the once dorky big pompom ones are now very cool. That is why I put together this post, let's call it Hat Looks for Fall 2011. But of course these hats will work for Spring 2012 as well...

First here's a part of my own hat collection. I like to have many hats to choose from every day depending on what I am wearing and how cold it is.

This hat is from Tuulis. My sister got it for me for last Christmas. It is very warm and the ear flaps are cute!

This one is from H&M long time ago.
This one is from Seppälä last fall.
These ones are all handmade. I knitted a couple of them, then my sister and one of my friend made the rest. I like handmade hats the best because nobody else will have the same hat than you.
This hat is one of my favorites. It is so casual and it goes with lot of outfits. And it is soft!

This hat is made with Novita's new fall time yarn called Noki. I love it!! It has black, brown, purple and torquoise, so basically with goes with anything. I love the big pompom on the top too!
It is also trendy to have a logo or a picture on your hat like these ones. And the bolder the color the better. My friends volunteered to model their hats too, thank you guys!!

These next hats are not mine but I got to try them on. My sister has all these hats at their store Tuulis in Varpaisjärvi. Most of these hats are made by Fredrikson and they cost around 30-50 euros.

It was so much fun to try on all these hats, I felt like the MadHatter! I hope you enjoyed looking at the pictures and got some ideas for yourself for hat shopping this fall. Stay warm!!

P.S Let me know what is your favorite one out of all these hats.

  1. my favorite is the furry one with the two pom poms - you look like a cute little ewok from star wars!

  2. My one sister likes that hat too! I thought it was bit odd... Definitely an ewok look... Not sure if that is a good thing...
