Hello there!
I'm still feeling under the weather and I have fever regardless that I have been taking antibiotics for two days now. To cheer myself up I bought myself new make up that is affordable to anyone since I got it from the the regular grocery store. I decided to test out the new miracle BB Cream by Garnier. They have been advertising it so much lately that I just had to find out if it is good or not.
If you somehow have been able to avoid the advertisement, let me tell you what this cream is supposed to do. Garnier says that on 1 application you will get 5 results:
-renews radiance
-brightens complexion
-evens skin tone
-hydrates
-protects with SPF 15
By the way... have you wondered why this is called the BB Cream? I have, and all I can think of is the stupid reality show BigBrother and I don't think they named the cream because of that. I had to google BB creams and I found out that it comes from the words Blemish Balm or Blemish Base.
According to Wikipedia, BB creams are originally formulated in Germany and they were initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes.
BB creams come in a variety of different formulations and qualities. Some are said to have skin whitening or brightening properties. Others are said to be anti-acne or anti-wrinkle, some are intended to even out skin tone, and yet others to lighten blemish scars. BB creams are sometimes used like a primer under foundation, and if tinted may supposedly replace foundation and some newer ones are advertised as having functions of primer, foundation, moisturizer, sun block, pore minimization and skin refining together, making them an economic skin care solution.
You can get the cream either in "light"or "medium".
Smell of the cream is pretty strong. It is not bad smelling but really strong floral smell. I don't mind it but to someone who is allergic to smells, this might be a problem. The cream itself looks dark but once you put it on your face, it evens out with your skin tone. You also don't need much of the cream at all. That amount that I have on my hand, is too much. I ended up wasting half of that in the drain. It is good to know that little cream goes a long way.
To show you guys how this miracle cream worked on me, I have before- and after-pictures for you.
Here's me in the morning without any make up at all. I only washed my face. Aren't I brave to show my bare face to everybody like this?
I think it works pretty good. First I didn't like how the cream settled really quick when I was applying it. Then I didn't like it because my skin looked greasy and I felt like I needed powder. But after couple minutes the cream somehow turned into a matte powdery finish. After that I loved it! This must be the easiest cream ever. I can already think of many trips when I will need this, so I don't have to lug around many different bottles. Plus I'm really happy about the SPF 15. Way to go Garnier!
That's it for today... Now I'm going back to the couch to wait for better and healthier days. And I might be sick but at least I look gorgeous! Since I had already half of the make up done (with just one cream!), I decided to do the rest too... Little eye shadow and mascara... some blush... I look great for a sick person. Cheers!
