7 Days After My Surgery

Hello, hello, hello!

Day seven after my tonsillectomy and I'm feeling good. My throat is only a little sore and my voice is raspy, like I'm getting a cold, but nothing really bad. I think my scabs are starting to come off though. I accidentally burped fairly loud today (*embarrassed*) and I felt the scabs "move". I'm hoping that I'm not too sore after they do come off. Many people say that the pain after the scabs is the worst.

Even though I'm feeling good, I still look a bit under the weather. My eyes just look really tired. I have to keep reminding myself to take it easy.

But staying put is really hard when the sun is shining and it is a wonderful winter day outside! The temperature is still fairly mild and the sky is blue. Scott took Jinx running today while I stayed at home. My exercise once again was a walk to the local store (*blah*).

Besides being happy about my throat feeling ok today, I got excited about my breakfast too. I was finally able to eat bread (*woohoo*). I love bread and I eat it every single day. It has been an absolute torture to not to eat it for a week. This morning I made myself a slightly toasted rye bread with butter and honey on top. Booger-eyed Jinx helped me by eating the crust (*giggle*).

To end the day off on a high note, I had a delish dinner that made my belly happy. I ate a big bowl of spinach soup with a hard boiled egg and fresh herb topping.

On my trip to the store today, I bought two new herbs to my "temporary herb garden". I figured they will help me to get me better quicker.

I got flat leaf parsley which is rich in anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals and dietary fiber. Parsley helps control blood-cholesterol, prevents constipation and protects the human body from cancers. Parsley also contains health benefiting essential oils which one of them works like anesthetic and antiseptic agent for teeth and gum diseases. The other herb I got is basil, which is high in vitamin A and K. It also has essential oils that have anesthetic and antiseptic tendencies. To read more about different herbs, you can go here

Tonight I'm just taking it easy and finishing up the hat I started to knit couple days ago. Maybe we'll watch a movie too. Bye everyone!
