Just a quick post about my recovery day number 9 before I go to bed. Since I had a such a good day yesterday I figured I would be able to get out of the house little more today. That is why I headed to downtown Kuopio for a little while. But I think it was little too much too soon. I felt really tired when I got back and I had to take a nap.
I'm still tired and I feel like I have no power in my muscles at all. I'm also cold and running a slight fever. Good thing is that my throat is only a little sore. Some of the scabs are still there and my throat/tongue is little bit swollen. I really need to rest well tonight and tomorrow.
Anyway... my trip to downtown wasn't all for nothing. I was able to find some steals (*wink*). Just check out these spring flower leggings from Vero Moda. They were only 12,90 euros.

I'm usually not into flower patterns that much but my friend has been talking about them being in fashion so much that I wanted to give them try. I haven't been able to find a pattern that I like and that looks good on me until I saw these. For some reason these leggings popped out from the store window and I had to try them on.
I think they are cute and they will look good with my white baggy sweater. I just can't wait for the weather to get a bit warmer, so I can wear them. Just looking at the bright pattern makes me happy and delighted about spring being here soon.
I also bought a new Garnier mineral Total Respect deodorant. One of the magazines I read few days ago had an article saying that it is really good and works well, so I decided to try it out too (*I'm on a roll, first flower pants, now new deo, giggle*).
According to Garnier's website, Garnier mineral is enriched with mineralite, an ultra-absorbent mineral from volcanic origin that naturally and continuously absorbs humidity. This deodorant doesn't contain aluminum-based compounds and it doesn't have alcohol, thus making it healthier for your body. I'll let you know if I like it once I get to workout and get sweaty.
My real steal of the day was this gorgeous bowl from Taika-series made by Iittala. It's real price is around 20 euros but I was able to get it for 12 euros. I love Taika-dishes almost as much I love Moomin ones. They are both so pretty. Anytime I see either or on sale, I'll buy an item to make my collection bigger.
Lastly I went to the grocery store and got potatoes, sausages and salad. I was ready for a real meal! I haven't been able to eat normally for a week, so I made my yummy potato wedges tonight.
The trick to making great potato wedges (*the ones that are crispy from the outside and mushy from the inside*) is in olive oil and butter. You will need both. Olive oil bakes potatoes soft from inside and butter crisps them on the outside. Bake about an hour at 225C/435F and you're good to go. Don't forget salt, pepper and herbs.
Salad was really basic. Just lettuce, cabbage, carrots, tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. I don't really like salad dressing. Sometimes I might throw in olive oil and lemon juice but tonight I was concentrating on my potatoes and didn't really care about how my salad was (*girl gotta get real food*).
Anyway, I think I might have over killed my dinner too because now my belly hurts. Just too much too soon. Tomorrow I will be wiser. Good night!
