Hello from rainy Finland!
We still have super bad weather. It is like 24/7 rain, clouds and cold winds. I can't understand why we just can't have a real summer. Well, it is what it is and we have to make the most of it. This morning I still went for a couple mile run with Jinx and then made a hot steaming bowl of oatmeal topped with cottage cheese and fresh peaches for breakfast (*yummy*).
Today I want to share pictures from the last weekend. On Saturday we had my niece's first communion (*done at the age of 15 in Finland*), as well as the after party at her home. It was nice to see all the closest relatives together. Then on Sunday Scott and I went for a hike at a nature trail with Jinx. It looked like it would rain but we were lucky and it didn't.
Here we go, enjoy!
My niece's first communion was held at an island that the church owns. We had to take little boats there.
Full boat load of happy guests.
Along the way.
My niece and I. She is so grown up already!
This is why I love parties. Food!!
Flowers for my niece.
She is almost as tall as we are (*I'm not wearing heels though, she is*).
A princess for the day.
My nephew was there too! He is a charmer.
She is so pretty!
Sunday we borrowed my friend's car to drive to a near by town for the nature trail.
One of the many lakes of Finland.
Thank goodness that rain cloud never reached us.
Ferns.
Moss growing on a rock.
Jinx loved to run free in the woods. We were pretty much the only ones on the trail that day. We passed only two groups of people along the way.
Almost like Indiana Jones (*giggle*).
Jinx and his tongue going nuts.
A cool colored beetle.
Jinx not understanding why we stopped to take pictures. He wants to go!
Ok, fine. I'll wait for you guys.
Indiana Riitta and mystery of big rock.
One of the hills that we hiked had a great view, and you could even see Puijo tower way in the distance.
Me trying to hold on to summer by wearing flower dresses. I freeze my ass every day (*laugh*).
Kisses to you all!
Happy week everyone!!
