Enrique Inglesias Concert

Hello!

I'm so excited because I finally saw Enrique Inglesias in a concert this weekend. I have wanted to see him for awhile but hadn't had the time or money. Last December he announced that he is bringing his Sex & Love tour to Finland in May. I had just bought tickets to another concert that costed quite a lot, so I couldn't afford to buy yet another ticket. I was pretty bummed out but figured that I could try to win tickets. I have been having a fairly good luck on all sorts of raffles and competitions lately, so I did my best and entered pretty much any competition on Instagram that I could find. I kept tagging my friend as well.
Last week I was just sitting at a boring meeting at work when I get a message from my friend. She asks if I'm free to go to the Enrique concert because she won two tickets. I literally jumped up and down while my manager looked at me crazy (*oh well*). Thankfully I was able to get some time off from work, so I was able to travel down to Helsinki for the concert.
And holy shit what a awesome concert it was! I'm still grinning when thinking about it. I danced and partied throughout the whole show. Oh, and Enrique was smoking hot! Only thing that I found it odd was the fact that some stupid Finnish people had their seats in the inner pit right next to the stage but they didn't go near the stage even though Enrique was asking them. Nor they danced or partied. Why bother going if you just sit there?! I felt embarrassed as a Finn. I hope someone has explained Enrique that Finns can be funny and shy that way.

Here's some pics from my trip to the concert.

Sunday morning bus ride to Helsinki.

All glammed up for the concert with my friend Rosa.

I said I want to go to the concert and I am going to the concert. That's just how it works (*giggle*).

Our seats were on the first tier of the Hartwall arena in Helsinki.

Cheers!

One happy gal.

Our seats were pretty good. Of course it wasn't inner pit but hey, we didn't pay for the tickets.

There was a dj spinning some tunes before the concert.

And then the fun began! Hit after a hit!

So close but so far away.

Celebrate with some confetti!

And balloons.

Next day I needed some caffeine. Double to be exact. My favorite coffee drink: Caramel frappucino with extra shot of espresso.

On my way back home.

Treated myself to some chocolate too. What the heck! Bus drives are otherwise super boring.

Quick stop in sunny Mikkeli.

Me and my long legs felt like Donald Duck in this comic: "Phew! Nobody sat next to me"

What have you been up to?

Midsummer 2016

Hello, hello!

And warm greetings from Finland. Summer is here and I'm loving it. We have had quite a many sunny days and few rainy ones. So as you can imagine, I have not spent any extra time on my computer but outside enjoying the weather.

Today's post is from a week ago when we celebrated Midsummer. The three day Midsummer weekend gets all the Finns to escape to their summer cottages. And what's not to love about it; sun, swimming in a lake, hot sauna, good food and relaxing. That's what we did too.

We were so happy to be invited to spend Midsummer with our friend who turned 30 years old. He hosted a awesome party at camping site at Rautalampi (*about an hour from Kuopio down South*). Since it was just our group of friends it was a blast. We all had our own cabin rooms and there was a gorgeous lake right next to us. Jinx also had plenty of room to run around. It felt like we all were on a summer camp (*bunk beds and everything*).

Jinx chilled at the train station like a pro traveler.

16 years old and still ready to travel with us.

Camp site that our friend had rented.

Sauna building.

For some odd reason Finns like to make these things called "vasta" and then hit themselves with them in the sauna. It is a bundle of birch tree branches tied together. Sounds weird but feels really good with the steam and heat of the sauna. The oils of the leaves make your skin really soft.

You could run straight from the sauna to the lake for a quick (*skinny*) dip.

Yey! Bikini season!

Our bunk beds.

So peaceful.

Main building.

Partners in crime (*and in all the fun stuff too*).

Summer time in Finland can be warm and sunny. And I love it!

We had three days to look at these views. Pretty awesome!

I love these hot dog buns! You just stick the hot dog in the hole of the bun. Yes, it sounds and looks perverted but it is the easiest way to eat a hot dog. These buns were bought from Lidl. Notice Jinx begging on the background (*haha*).

Spiderweb gleaming in the evening sun.

White sangria and one very thirsty camper (*giggle*).

Cheers!

Boys swimming.

Lake water was pretty warm.

Toesies.

Birthday boy getting presents.

Cakes and sangria.

This cake was so good! Dark chocolate with fresh cherries.

Happy Birthday Tatu!

Tatu is also known as "Ahnold" because of his muscles (*giggle*).

Midsummer hugs.

What's cooking here? Witches' brew?

Scott and Tatu by the bonfire.

Herring-potato soup. I guess this is a local Midsummer food.

Hmm, what was the saying about too many cooks...

Herring! It actually tasted pretty good.

Midsummer is also known as nightless night due to the fact that the sun barely sets (*it doesn't set at all in the Northern parts of Finland*). I took this picture 7am and it was already this bright and sunny.

That was our Midsummer. What did you do?

Yey! Summer Is Here!

Hello! Hello!

I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it! Summer is finally here and the sun is shining. I'm totally over the moon. Last Thursday many Finns had a day off due to Ascension Day (*me included*). I made sure to make most of my free day; I ate ice cream for breakfast and had plenty of fresh sun shine and fresh air. It was great! Here's some pics...

Breakfast in bed.

Yey! It is flip flop season.

Hiking trip to Korkeakoski with friends.

Since the hiking trail is on the bottom of this huge gorge there was still some ice and snow because the sun doesn't really shine there much.

Jinx loved our hike!

Our sporty bunch!

Fallen tree.

Tiny mushrooms growing in the sunshine.

At the bottom of the water fall at Korkeakoski.

Then it was time to eat. You know this guy was begging like crazy...

We grilled sausages.

As well as had sandwiches and chips.

If I was a president I'd make work week only 4 days. Everybody should have a day off middle of the week (*giggle*). I felt so refreshed after having an extra day off. Well, maybe not a day off every every week but even once a month would be good. What do you think?
