I don't care if this is a trend or not but I will wear my summer dresses and skirts during winter time. I call it winterizing your summer clothes. Heck, I will make it a trend!
This is how you winterize summer dress or skirt:
Pick your favorite dress or a skirt. Then look at your winter clothes and pick the ones that match your summer piece the best. Pay attention to your shoulders and legs because those are usually bare summer time. You need to cover them for the winter. I usually pick leggings, long sleeved t-shirts, cardigans and leg warmers. Don't forget to wear scraves and hats too!
Also, match chunky, thicker materials with the flowy and thinner summer materials. This way you don't look like you are crazy with your summer materials only. Different materials also loog good together. Thick sweater paired with a silky dress creates an interestin combination with different textures.
This is my lovely polka dot dress. I bought it this summer for my friend's 30th birthday. It was a perfect choice for hot day in Oslo. I paired the dress with some heels and big hoop earrings.

Since I wanted to wear this dress today and it was cloudy and 7 C/45F degrees, I couldn't just wear the heels and hoops with the dress. I needed something more. I chose my awesome leggings from H&M that I told you about before. They are so warm! Then I wore a teal colored cardigan over the dress. For shoes I picked my grey wedge ankle boots because they are so comfortable. It doesn't look like a summer dress anymore, it is very winterized.
Winterizing works great! Give it a try (*smile*). I just got back from work and I will change out of my winterized look into work out clothes because I will go walk my dear Jinx and then I will hurry to my pilates class. After that I need to bake the yummy pumpkin pie for Scott. I hope it turns out ok because I haven't baked one for a while. I'll let you know... Ciao!
