Travel The World / Helsinki - Stockholm Cruise

Hello, Hello!

Here we go! My pictures from the cruise to Stockholm. We had a lot of fun! Everything went well and the ship didn't sink. We got to eat good, shop a little, relax in a hot tub, watch a KalPa game, enjoy an entertaining dance show and just to hang out. The weather was also great during the whole cruise. Helsinki still had snow but Stockholm was already warmer and there wasn't any snow. 

Our ship called m/s Silja Symphony. It is built 1991 in Turku, Finland. It is 203 meters long and 31,5 meters wide. It can accommodate 3000 passengers.

Our cabin had a view to the ship's promenade.

Along the promenade are many restaurants, shops and other entertainment.

It was fun to sit on the window sill and watch people on the promenade.

We also had a stage right underneath our window and we were able to see the captains welcome speech directly from our cabin. As you can see Moomin troll was there too! Along with his friend Little My.

The ship also had a night club and casino.

Friday night we went to relax at the ship's spa that featured regular sauna, steam sauna and few different pools and hot tubs. Here's Klaara on her way to the dressing rooms.

One of my favorites at the cruise is the breakfast buffet. I love bacon and scrambled eggs!

Buildings in Stockholm.

One of my favorite stores is Urban Outfitters. It is an American chain store for guys and girls clothing. It also has things for your home. We don't have Urban Outfitters in Finland, so I just had to go there in Stockholm.

Stockholm's Urban Outfitters is actually an old theater building. It is really cool looking! Just check out the next few pictures. 

After walking for a while, we stopped for a bit to enjoy the sun and cold drinks.

Shopping center Gallerian. It is a big spacious mall that has 240 stores including Monki, Topshop, H&M, Kicks, G-Star Raw, Bik Bok, Guess, Oasis and...

...even Hollister Co. I was so surprised to see an American surf style clothing store in Stockholm.

After the mall we just walked around the shopping streets in downtown Stockholm.

We also saw this cute market place that sold fresh fruit and vegetables.

Right next to the Concert Hall is Stockholm's the oldest department store called Pub. It is known for Swedish designer brands.

The Church of Saint Clare or Klara Church. It is funny because my friend's name who was traveling with me is Klaara. Both the church and my friend are very cute!

Then it was time to board the ship again.

We lucked out because there was a pub on the ship that showed Finnish ice hockey on tv. We were able to watch KalPa - HIFK game before dinner. 

KalPa won 3-2! Wohoo!

Then it was dinner time! We had reserved a table at the ship's dinner buffet. It had really good appetizers like avocado, lamb meat balls, mozzarella in pesto sauce, oysters, prosciutto, blintz, vegetables, sushi, bread, cheese... you name it!

For desert they had an ice cream bar. Yummy!

They also other deserts but I was bit unhappy with them. Both tiramisu and pannacotta tasted really bland. I actually didn't eat them and I ended up getting a second serving of ice cream. But overall the buffet was great and worth the money. Appetizers, main course and ice cream bar were all excellent!

At midnight the ship's night club had a Dance Fusion show.

It featured a group of singers and dancers that performed a mix of today's pop songs from Madonna to Black Eyed Peas. It was very entertaining!

The show had a great beat and it got us all in a cheery mood. We ended up dancing for a little bit before heading back to the cabin. By the morning we had sailed back to Helsinki and it was time to enjoy a delicious breakfast before driving back home.
