Guess what day today is? It is finally the time for this year's World Championship Hockey Games!! Wohoo!! Finland will be playing against Belarus at 8.15pm. So, if you are trying to reach me tonight, you won't because I'm glued to the TV.
Anyway, while we wait for tonight's game to start, I wanted to share couple of my favorite moments of last year's games (*besides the moment when Finland won gold*). I know all the Finns know both of these but I figured there might be some foreigners who haven't seen them... Either way, I like them.
This first one is a super famous goal that Mikael Granlund made against team Russia. He literally cranked the puck in the goal by using a move called high wrap. The look on the Russian goal keeper's face is priceless after he realizes how Mikael made the goal. Wait until 30 seconds in the clip and you will see a better close up for the goal.
The Finnish Postal Service actually made a stamp for the honor of this goal. Before they were able to print the stamp, the postal service had to ask for the Russian goalie's approval since he is displayed on the stamp as well.
My second favorite moment was when the team Finland's coach Jukka Jalonen tried to fist pump the assistant coach. Too bad they failed. But it sure did look funny as hell!! I hope these guys have practiced fist pumping for this year's games... We shall see tonight, I guess.
