Perfect Hat For A Perfect Little Girl

Hi there!

As you may have noticed I've been super lazy with knitting lately. I haven't had the time or inspiration. Other projects have been more interesting. That's just how it goes with creative minds. They tend to do what they like.

But inspiration can come back quickly. About a week ago I got an idea in my head that I want to knit a hat for my friend's kid. She is a cute 8 year old, and one of her favorite colors is green. I happened to have some left over green wool yarn that was perfect for the hat.

It only took two nights for me to knit the hat. I used Novita's Isoveli yarn with size 5 needles. I made 16 stitches on 2 needles and 20 on the other two. Then I just knitted until the hat was tall enough. I didn't have a pattern, I just kinda went with the flow. I made Scott to try it on since his head is smaller than mine, and I figured if it was bit tight on his head, it should fit her (*this ended up working out great because it fit her just right*). I finished the hat with a big bonbon, crochet edge and a fleece lining. Perfect hat for a perfect little girl (*smile*). Few pics to share of course...

Finished hat. I had to add grey yarn because I was running out of green but I think it turned out good anyway.

Black fleece lining that I handsewed onto the hat.

Crochet grey decorative edge.

I love making things when I'm inspired.

Jinx tested the hat too. It was just perfect.

I was happy to be able to make a warm hat but too bad the weather isn't that cold. Usually I wouldn't complain about warm weather but it's starting to look like we are not going to have a white Christmas. That is unheard of. We are in Finland for God's sake. The land of ice, freezing temperatures and polar bears. Well, maybe not that last part but still. You know what I mean.

Anyway, cheers! Take care! Stay warm regardless where you are (*giggle*).
