11 Days After My Surgery

Hello!

I think this will be my last "after the surgery" post. My throat is almost all healed, only slight pain remains but it is not bad at all. I don't even need pain killers any more. Worst part is actually yawning because that stretches the muscles in my throat and it hurts. All in all tonsillectomy wasn't that bad for me. 

Here's my recovery time in numbers:

-10 days of pain that needed medication

-9 popsicles

-2 liters of ice cream

-about 50 ice cubes

-30 liters of ice water (*doctors recommend 3 liters/day, and I'm positive that I drank that*)

-1 darling husband to bring water at all times

-1 bottle of honey

-1 really bad movie (*Twilight Breaking dawn, part 2*)

-2 ok movies (*That's my boy and Project X*)

-2 great movies (*Argo and Madagascar 3*)

-season 2 of Drop dead diva

-2 pairs of mittens that I knitted

-2 hats that I knitted

-1 voodoo doll that I made

-10 magazines

-3 manicures

-2 weeks of no exercise (*or sauna*)

-1 cute dog to cuddle with me

I hope my posts past 11 days can be helpful to others who are searching information about tonsillectomy. If there is anyone who has any questions about the surgery, I'm glad to answer any of them. Just e-mail me and I'll help the best that I can. 

Anyway... Today has been kinda quiet day for me. Just chilling at home, knitting, watching tv and taking Jinx for a walk. For dinner I was craving spaghetti and mushy peas. I know it is a bit weird combination but that's what I felt like eating, so that's what I made then. I also had country style bread with lots of butter.

I'm excited for tonight because I can actually watch The Oscars. I usually don't get to watch them because they are shown here middle of the night due to the time difference. Since I don't have to go to work tomorrow (*I'm still on a sick leave*), I can stay up as late as I want. Too bad I probably will fall asleep as soon as The Oscars start because I'm used going to bed early (*giggle*).

Awesome Awards / Oscars 2012

Hello!

Last night was the time to finish up this year's award season with the annual Academy Awards. Since I'm off work today, I actually stayed up to watch the red carpet show but I couldn't stay awake for the actual awards.  It was 3am when I had give up and go to sleep.
Before I fell asleep, I noticed that this time the lovely ladies of the red carpet were really relaxed with their hair. Lot of the stars had their hair down with long waves. I liked it a lot! Bangs were also fairly popular, and not just any bangs, the blunt very straight bangs seemed to be the trend.
What comes to the gowns, white was ruling the carpet. Along with nudes, pastels and metal colored dresses. The other trend with the gowns was bright colors like red and green.

My favorite dress was worn my Michelle Williams, and dress was made by Louis Vuitton.

This dress worked wonders on Octavia's figure. Plus I love the color!

Why do I care about Adam Lambert at the Oscar after party? Because his boyfriend Sauli is from Finland. Sauli is the short cute blue eyed one in the middle.

Move over Brangelina! This is my favorite couple of the night.

Those were my picks of the Oscar night. What was your favorite dress? While I wait for your comments, I'm going to check the news that who actually won the Oscars. I have no clue right now. I have been too into the fashion of the red carpet that I don't even know who won the best picture... As long as it is not Tree of Life, I'm happy. I think that movie is not good at all. We started watching it the other night but we had to stop in the middle because it was so boring. Usually we watch all types of movies from the beginning to the end but this was just too slow and there was no dialog. Anyway, this wasn't supposed to be a movie review, so I'm just going to wish everybody... A Great Monday!! 

Awesome Awards / Grammy Awards

Hi again!

The award season moved on to Grammys last night. Like all the other awards, I didn't watch the Grammys because I was sleeping soundly but I did check out all the dresses online in the morning.

This time I didn't like any of the dresses really. For some reason many girls had long gowns with long sleeves and no cleavage. I'm not saying you should always show a lot of skin but these dresses didn't have anything special about them. Just my opinion. Gee! I guess I was kinda mean. Oh well, they could have made better choices for their outfits. Anyway, I'm off to go workout and then get my Valentine's Day stuff ready for tomorrow.

Hello there!

Last night it was the time for the SAG awards. I of course didn't watch them because I was sleeping but I made sure this morning to check out People magazine's pictures of all the dresses. Bright colors were in once again. Plus ruffles and lace. Here are my favorite dresses...

I love this one!! The color is so pretty and the cut is unusual yet beautiful. If only I could get something like this to the wedding I have been invited to...

Awesome Award Season / Golden Globes 2012

Hello!

I love the Hollywood awards! All the glitz and glam, and of course hot guys in suits. It sucks to live in Finland and miss the shows on tv because they are on middle of the night due to the time difference.

Last night it was time for Golden Globes awards. I was blissfully sleeping while the awards were on, so today after work I checked out all the fun pictures from People magazine. Don't worry! I'm sharing my favorite picks of the pictures...

I love to look at the gowns the ladies are wearing, plus their hair and jewelry. This time I had an actual reason to pay attention to the gowns (usually it is just for fun) because this summer we have been invited to a friend's wedding. I need to think of a dress I'd like to wear. Since we coming to the USA before the wedding, I can buy a dress from there. Hence I need to get ideas what I like. Alright... That's all for today. I'm feeling a bit sluggish and I didn't even make it to my workout tonight. I'm running a bit of a temperature and I think I have gotten a cold. That sucks! I need to go bed early tonight.
