Welcome To Woodstock

Oh yeah!

Today I have a very groovy post for you guys. My awesome friend Katri had an amazing 60' and 70' inspired birthday party this past weekend and we had the pleasure to be invited. It was so fun to see how well every party goer had dressed up for the occasion as well as all the decorations and the set up in general. You immediately felt like you had been transported back in time! But enough about me blabbing on, lets get to the pictures that are taken by me and some of our friends.

My sister did my hair for the party. I wanted a 60s updo like they have on Madmen series

I went for more 60s glam girl look than a hippie. My friend brought me this crocheted dress from Thailand couple years ago and it was perfect for this party!

You gotta wear some flowers in your hair.

Ready to party!

Scott dressed up as hippie activist.

Oh, that beard. Just for the party though (*thank goodness*).

Katri had rented a Volkswagen kleinbus to drive us around the local town of Juva. It was a great touch to the party and it definitely set the mood as all the guests could take ride down memory lane (*giggle*).

It was so fun to meet all our friends at one place. We never have enough time to hang out together.

As I said... everyone dressed up for the party. So cool!

Presents for the birthday girl.

 Peace and love!

Juha and his angry hippie face. Not sure why...

The weather has been crappy all summer, so Katri had prepared for bad weather with few garden tents. Thank goodness we didn't get much rain. Just couple sprinkles.

Juha's band played at the party too!

Awesome picture board that Katri and Juha made. They took pics of all the guests as they came in and then they named all the people in the pictures. This way each guest could learn each others' names.

Birthday girl and her hairdo.

More flowers!

Welcome to Woodstock folks.

In the kleinbus.

Peace out!

These are the only grab apples that didn't even make an effort to dress up (*hahaha*).

Elvis is alive and I think he had a brother at the party too!

Little hippies.

Time to eat.

Delicious salad and roasted sausages with bread.

Dirty hippie enjoying his after dinner smokes (*giggle*).

People mingling and getting to know each other.

Yummy strawberries.

And then it was time for cake and coffee (*super yum*).

Homemade cookies.

You bet my sugar tooth was happy!

Rad jeans.

Band playing.

Perfect yard for a party.

The band got a new singer. Impromptu performances are cool!

Happy crowd.

Almost all the guests at the party. Couple was taking pics or had already left.

Time to dance!

That was all folks! I told you it was super groovy. I absolutely love theme parties. I think that Finnish people don't have enough of them. Thank goodness we have friends like Katri and Juha. We can always count on having fun parties with them. Thanks guys!! And Happy Birthday one more time!!
